Cook

  • Job Type: Permanent
  • Hours: Tuesday through to Saturday between 9am – 6pm 
  • Experience: must have commercial cooking experience 


Job Description

Are you passionate about cooking, teamwork, and stepping up as a leader when needed? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and versatile Cook to join our team at Amazon Adventure Soft Play, part of the Drusillas Park family. In this role, you’ll prepare a simple yet delicious menu, including sandwiches, paninis, jacket potatoes, nuggets, and party food for our guests. Beyond the kitchen, you’ll also support the team as a supervisor or assistant when called upon, demonstrating strong leadership, teamwork, and a proactive attitude.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone with catering experience in a commercial environment—or even a Mum or Dad who’s skilled at balancing cooking and leadership in a dynamic setting.

Amazon Adventure Assistant

  • Hours: 9am – 6pm with good availability at weekends and during holidays

Job Description

We are looking for Amazon Adventure Assistants to assist in the effective running of Amazon Adventure and the smooth and successful running of the section area that is assigned to them within each session, ensuring a safe and fun environment for all our customers.

Specific Areas of Responsibility

General

  • Dealing with members of the public always ensuring good customer service skills
  • Assisting and/or hosting birthday parties and events ensuring we meet customer expectations
  • Maintaining neat and tidy workspaces including the staff room and service areas
  • Looking for new ways to improve on company policies and standards
  • Feedback any customer comments
  • Assist in identifying own training and development needs
  • Always adhering to company policies and, if required, requesting a Manager in instances where a customer questions or challenges a policy


Cleaning

  • General but thorough cleaning of Amazon Adventure including, hoovering, clearing and cleaning tables, washing up, loading and unloading the dishwasher, clearing foam balls and returning them to the frame, cleaning toilets
  • Ensuring soap, toilet rolls, and other cleaning stock is replenished where necessary
  • Collecting rubbish including the office and staff areas


Admissions

  • Welcome customers ensuring a smooth and efficient entry
  • Competent using the booking software and system
  • Checking memberships are valid via the till system software and being vigilant checking membership photos match
  • Answering telephone enquiries
  • Handling the lost property system
  • Checking and replying to email enquiries ensuring the implemented email system is followed to avoid duplicated replies or crossover


Health and Safety

  • Complete health and safety checks on play frame and play areas as laid out on the Daily Check List and report any findings that require attention or maintenance
  • Complete frame cleaning checks to a high standard as laid out on the cleaning check list and report any findings that require attention


Catering

  • Receiving, recording and putting deliveries away
  • Labelling and dating food ensuring accuracy at all times
  • Adhering to all H&S laws relating to food handling
  • Serving hot/cold drinks and snacks at the servery
  • Preparing hot and cold food, always complying with Food Safety laws and systems
  • Checking and recording food temperatures as set out on check list
  • Checking and recording fridge and freezer temperatures as set out on check list
  • Ensuring general tidiness of the catering areas and replenishing stock where necessary
  • Ensuring correct stock rotation so that food is used within date
  • Perform any necessary cleaning of catering equipment and surfaces
